UIL researchers in Ekonomisk Debatt
The UIL researchers Linna Marten and Akib Khan have written articles in the latest issue of Ekonomisk Debatt.
The researcher Linna Marten has together with Cristina Bratu and Lillit Ottosson written the paper "Reform av introduktionsprogram ökade flyktingkvinnors sysselsättning." The paper investigates the employment rate among refugee women following reform to the introductory program in Sweden. The reform moved the responsibility from the municipalities to the Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) and introduced individualized compensation for participants.
The doctoral student Akib Khan has together with Johannes M Bos, Abu S Shonchoy, and Saravana Ravindran written the paper "Experimentell utvärdering av en storskalig intervention för att främja barns tidiga utveckling i Bangladesh." The researchers investigate if it is possible to implement large-scale interventions to improve children's early development. The case studied is an intervention to Bangladesh's national nutritional program, which offered educational materials and home visits to families with small children.
